July 24th is International Self-Care Day.
We spend a large part of our time caring for others (spouse, children, parents, friends, etc.) and working hard towards achieving a goal (work or personal) that we’ve left little time to fill our own well. Self-care is often looked at as a self-indulgence and we often find it hard to make the time.
It is so vital in elevating ourselves so that we become more mindful, aware/present, and grateful beings. We all have different strategies in self-care. Some of my favourite strategies include getting lost in my cooking or lying on the grass in my backyard and staring at the trees and the sky, the moment I take for myself is absolute heaven!
